Sportsman's Dinner

A fantastic evening with football pundit and ex player Micky Quinn
and ex player and comedian
John Stiles

Football speaker and player Micky Quinn was notorious during his varied career in professional football, involved with no less than nine teams during his seventeen year career. Micky Quinn was the Sumo of 1980s football and now works as a sports speaker covering both football and horse racing.

Beginning his footballing career in 1979 Micky Quinn played for Wigan Athletic, Newcastle United and in the Premier League for Coventry City.

Remembered for his life both on and off the pitch Micky Quinn retired in 1996 and became a dedicated football speaker, since then he has travelled the UK sharing his stories and insights into the world of football both past and present. As a football speaker Micky is applauded for his accessible personality and comradery with the crowd, Quinn continues to work within the football industry and often appears as a sports speaker covering football games and reporting on high profile incidents and transfers for the BBC radio station TalkSPORT.

Outside his work as an after dinner speaker, Micky has established himself as a race horse trainer, he owns his own stables and, despite some controversy, has an impressive client list. Micky also works as a sports speaker covering this area of his expertise.

John Stiles is one of the most popular and busiest comedians on the after-dinner circuit. He is a former Professional Footballer, having played for Leeds United and Doncaster Rovers, before injury cut short his career in the game. He is also very proud of the fact that his father is World Cup-winning hero Nobby Stiles MBE.

For the past ten years John has been working as an After Dinner Speaker and more recently as a comedian. John also prides himself on the fact that his act is very original and funny, with a great emphasis on voices and impressions which sets him apart.

In 2008, John was voted by listeners to TalkSport Radio, as the second best speaker on the after dinner circuit.
